While you were enjoying the Holiday season , our top-notch Program and Trip Coordinator, Mary Carneiro, has been busy lining up some very intriguing trips for the entire year ahead.  If you’d like to join Mary’s Band of Gypsies for one or more of these great trips, remember that registration begins exactly 6 months prior to the trip and your check is your reservation.

    

 STARS, STARS, STARS

Thursday May 10th, 2012

You'll visit Emerson Placein Mt.Tremperin the beautiful CatskillMountainarea in upstate New York, home to the World's Largest Kaleidoscope. Standing at more than 60 feet and featuring three, 38-foot mirrors. You'll also have time to explore the unique country shops. Lunch is included at Sportsman's Alamo Cantina.  After lunch, we'll visit the Stucki Embroidery Works, producers of the stars for our American Flag. 

Cost   $80pp.  Depart Senior Center at 8:45am  and estimated return at 6pm.

 

ELEGANT OLD WESTBURY GARDENS,  LONG ISLAND

OldWestburyGardensis the fabulous 1906 country estate of a well known financier John Phipps whose wealth flourished in a gracious and splendid era!  You’ll enjoy guided tours of both the incredible Gardens & Tour of the Mansion. The Gardens are considered one of the most beautiful English country estate gardens inNorth America!  Enjoy a buffet lunch at Papa Razzi Restaurant in Westbury. Cost $72 per person.

 

NEWPORT DINNER CRUISE ON THE MAJESTIC

TALL SHIPS & THE US NAVY AT BOSTON CELEBRATION

Tall Ships and Naval Vessels from across the world are coming toBostonto mark the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the role the Constitution played in the conflict!Prior to our cruise we’ll spend time at the Prudential Center inCopley Square. Wonderful Food Court & Retail Stores with coupon book savings.

Cost $71 per person. Depart Senior Center at 7am and return at 7pm

 

HUDSON VALLEY AIR AND SEA

Thursday August 9th, 2012

This morning we’ll visit the OLD RHINEBECK AERODROME.  You’ll see vintage aircraft from 1905 through 1935, antique automobiles, motorcycles and other memorabilia from the early years of aviation. 

Lunch is included at COPPOLA'S.  You’ll enjoy a delicious luncheon featuring a choice of Veal Cutlet Parmigiana, Broiled Breast of Chicken, or Baked Scrod, served complete with all the trimmings. This afternoon, we’ll enjoy a two-hour CRUISE on theHudson River. 

Cost  $74.  Depart Senior Center at 8am and estimated return at 6:30pm 

 

ESSEX TRAIN AND BOAT

Friday, September 21st, 2012

Welcome aboard the only Steam Train & Riverboat connection in the country.  Your vintage rail car is pulled by an authentic steam locomotive and meanders through the countryside to Deep River where you board the Becky Thatcher Riverboat to cruise the beautifulConnecticut River.  This 2 ½ hour experience will be followed by lunch at the award winning Waters Edge at Old Saybrook Inn, with splendid views of theConnecticut Riverand Long Island Sound.

Cost   $76 per person 

 

OCTOBERFEST at the LOG CABIN Thursday, October 4th, 2012

Holyoke,MA, is home of the Log Cabin, a beautiful entertainment facility overlookingPioneerValley.  This event includes an all-you-can-eat German fest, served family style, with entertainment by the Riverboat Ramblers. The Ramblers’ aggressive rhythmic style and outrageous humor attract a large following wherever they perform.  Cost  $65pp

 

 

JACK O’LANTERN SPECTACULAR Thursday, October 25th, 2012

Travel to Providence, Rhode Island to experience the glow of thousand of pumpkins, set in a magical display of artistry during this Early Evening Spectacular with time at Providence Place Mall for shopping and a chance to grab a bite to eat at any one of the many eateries.  This event as been featured on the Today Show, CNN, and hailed by USA today as "extraordinary".

Cost $47 per person.  Depart Senior Center at 12 noon and return at 11pm
